wedding 1.

oh.my.word.

after moving up here two days after our wedding, life has been rather nuts.
my apologies. i've missed you all, and blogging so much.
anyway...now that you've seen the video
i'm going to start officially re-capping the whole day. so excited!

getting ready:

once we finally got to the venue and started the whole process of getting ready
it all hit me and felt so real, especially when i put my big, cloudy dress on.
my lovely friend janelle did my make-up, thank goodness.
and i did my hair. i wanted to keep it simple.
tec was there capturing each moment and my gorgeous maidens were getting dressed.

it all felt so surreal...like i was in a dream. but i'd never felt more calm.
then when it was time to line up and head down the aisle, i had major butterflies.
gosh, when i saw him though. that was the best.

finds for friday: oregon edition.

perhaps the best purchase we've made since moving here
this hutch
it holds SO many things: books, vases (leftover from the wedding), trinkets, etc.
we got it from this amazing antique store up here called revival
they don't have a site...but if you are ever in central oregon, do yourself a favor.

happy weekend!

pride and joy.

i share this pride with miss a mountain bride
the pride for my programs that me, my in-laws, katie, and the copier at fedex/kinkos worked so hard on.

i knew i wanted fans, so i went online to search for them.
when i found the program fans, i was so so disappointed to see that they were $400+ for 150 of them. WHAT!?!??! really? come on wedding world. $400 for paper on sticks? hmm.
so i set out to make them myself.

thank goodness for katie's beautiful handwriting, first of all.
cost to print/copy at fedex/kinkos- $30
scalloped scissors, hot glue gun, hot glue- free because i already had them
tongue depressors- free because katie already had some (gem).
so...$30 and a day to assemble with a lot of family help, so worth it. much better than $400.
and they fan beautifully ;-)

and thank goodness they are done with only a week and a half to go.

ps...any last few weeks advice from you married ladies???!?!?
