DIY: yarn bottles.

over the weekend i worked, hung out with the mister watching anthony bourdain no reservations (he loves it) and worked on these little yarn bottles.

they are a project i'm working on for my wintery tablescape collaboration with Debbie and i am so excited to share them with you!
wrapping yarn around these clear lambrusco bottles i recently polished off was time-consuming but so worth it in the end:

i started at the top of the bottle and worked my way down. first i tied a knot around the top then wrapped the rest of the yarn around the hanging string from the knot.

for the best results pull the string semi-tightly when you wrap it. don't wrap it so tight that it bunches up (especially for thinner string) but just enough so that is stays in place.
finally when i got to the bottom of the bottle i used fabric glue to bind the end of the string to the rest of the wrapped string.

so far i've finished a cranberry one and two cream colored ones. i'm thinking about using them for my thanksgiving table as well!
i'll be working on some more projects for thanksgiving/our tablescape throughout the week and i can't wait to share them with you all ;-)

tomorrow-another wedding photo or two!

guest post: bridalhood.

i have some exciting news to share with you all! debbie, of Bridalhood and i are collaborating on a wintery, warm, lovely project together. we've been working on it for a few months now, ever since i moved to oregon, and now i've asked her to share with all of you a bit about the project we will be doing as well as an inspiration board!

since i started blogging, Bridalhood was absolutely one of my favorite blogs to read and debbie even featured me on her friday favs when i was still new to the whole blogging world. she is so wonderful and encouraging and i cannot wait to see this project through with her!!!

the beautiful debbie and her mister via (gabriel boone)
here she is sharing some of her thoughts on the project:

"I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon Rachael's blog, Lace and Likes but from the moment I found it I was hooked and have been following her journey ever since. We were both planning weddings about the same time and I felt like we found inspiration in the same types of things. I already felt like we were on similar paths and then ironically right after our weddings we both moved to Oregon! I knew then that we had to collaborate on some kind of project together. We've decided to come up with a wintery tablescape that focuses on all things warm and cozy. Between the two of us, we found images that will guide our creation and created an inspiration board to work from. The best part about this whole project - we will finally get the chance to meet each other and our hubbies. I love how through my own blog Bridalhood, I've made friends with other bloggers who find interest in the same things and can't wait to get started turning our inspiration into reality!"

the inspiration board we've been piecing together:

we both CANNOT wait to share more of this with you including DIY projects we'll be doing, our process and of course, the final product!

have a beautiful tuesday and drop by tomorrow for some more of our wedding photos ;-)
