okay.

have any of you noticed how everyone seems to go a little a-wall around weddings

like crazy

emotional

dramatic?

i mean really, everyone's stress can be heightened. including yours as the couple.

i definitely experienced my fair share of this during our own wedding and was thinking about it this morning so i thought i'd offer a little advice i picked up along the way:

don't you sweat it. people can be selfish and dramatic and downright awful around the biggest day for you and your partner. they can make it about them, or cause a scene, or totally lag on things you've asked them to help with. but let's be honest and relieve some stress here- ready?

it's not worth getting upset about. seriously.

i was getting so stressed and hurt by certain situations but in the end (and thanks to some really wonderful people surrounding me) i learned that its not AT ALL worth it. know why? because your wedding day and the engagement leading up to it is about you and the person you love committing your lives to each other in this one beautiful act. and that needs to be your focus-getting through all of the challenges that may come your way throughout the wedding planning to get to marry your best friend. 

so whatever you do, try your hardest to not let it affect you and just enjoy the planning/engagement process because you'll only get it once.

have fun with it!- and i promise you, everything WILL come together beautifully.

moving!

first of all, serious apologies are in order for my total neglect of this blog lately
i've been a little distracted because...

we are moving back to san diego at the end of the month!!!

for the last few months noah and i have been debating moving back to that area for many reasons:
our family
building our own family
the weather difference
my business was a big one
the list goes on.

bend has been so incredible to us and given us a lot of perspective on where we come from
we've gained new appreciation for it and are now DYING to go back
i don't think we'd expected to be this homesick but i can't wait to chronicle the next chapter of our married adventures back in carlsbad, ca!!

it feels like they're everywhere. like here, here and here.
they are all over facebook. tons of people who got married shortly before or after we did who are already expecting.
sometimes i get a little baby crazy due to the adorableness everywhere!

noah and i had spoken a lot about the subject when we first got married. seeing as we'd already been together for 4 years, i thought we should just start right away.
these were some tough conversations. my whole life my biggest goal has always been to be a mama. i've always loved children and just felt so natural around them, taking care of them.
i was feeling really anxious. then i realized noah was right, we are still really young with a lot more adventuring to do before bringing a little one into the world.
we've never really travelled together, except to NY, once.
and we had much more to see and experience before making a tiny one. (i call babies "tiny(s)" a lot)
anyway, we talked it over and decided to sit down and discuss/write out the goals we wanted to achieve before trying. instead of putting a time frame on it, making this list really seemed to take an enormous amount of pressure and anxiety off of both of us.

has anyone else experienced baby fever lately???
have you had any discussions like this?

i am so so happy for all of those out there experiencing parenthood for the first time right now
and i know when the time is right, noah and i will both know it and be ready

home.

there is nothing quite like coming home for christmas.

after 18 hours on the road from oregon and going through all kinds of crazy weather.

we made it last night.

and it feels so good.

i find that family is what really makes it feel like christmas...what do you think?

(aren't these christmas decorations amazing??? they were my grandparents and now they are mine!!!)

(my mom is totally cute and made mr. hersh a stocking that looks just like mine from when i was four years old!)

gosh i seriously love this season so much! what are you doing for christmas????

p.s. my posting may be a lacking a little this next week simply because we are down here with family for the holidays! but hopefully i'll be sharing my project with deb soon! we are so excited about how it turned out ;-)
