home.

there is nothing quite like coming home for christmas.
after 18 hours on the road from oregon and going through all kinds of crazy weather.
we made it last night.
and it feels so good.

i find that family is what really makes it feel like christmas...what do you think?
(aren't these christmas decorations amazing??? they were my grandparents and now they are mine!!!)
(my mom is totally cute and made mr. hersh a stocking that looks just like mine from when i was four years old!)

gosh i seriously love this season so much! what are you doing for christmas????

p.s. my posting may be a lacking a little this next week simply because we are down here with family for the holidays! but hopefully i'll be sharing my project with deb soon! we are so excited about how it turned out ;-)

DIY: christmas invites!

sorry i've been m.i.a. is anyone else going a little nuts getting ready for the holidays?
not only do i have bunches of presents to finish putting together/wrapping but we are heading south to be with the families in just 5 days!!! yikes.

anyway...in the midst of all of this madness i got to help out with some christmas party invitations for the mister's work.
if you are planning a christmas or new years party they are simple, pretty and festive.
what you'll need:

1. fun christmas fabrics (found at joann's on sale for 1.99/yd)
2. fabric glue
3. card stock
4. yarn
5. a printer
6. paper cutter

the steps are easy:
-pick a font that you like
-print the invites on the card stock
-cut them with the paper cutter
-glue them to the fabric with the fabric glue
and your done!

i was hoping to stitch them with my sewing machine but it malfunctioned. i think it would add a lovely touch if you had the time and a proper sewing machine!

i owe you a wedding photo! i'll have that tomorrow
and soon i'll be sharing photos from the photo shoot deb and i did

goodness. this last week has been nuts.

what with being sick, working, hosting thanksgiving and getting snowed upon.
we've also had guests the last three weekends which has been so fun and we were so grateful to see our beautiful friends and family, but i have to admit, it is nice to have the house to ourselves again and just be little marrieds. ;-)
today we are getting to spend the whole day together, which is a nice start to the week
but most of you out there have started your work week and so i have another edition of monday delights to help kick it off:
