song and dance.

via (google images)
latest task to be conquered: the song list
we have hired a DJ and we have worked out an awesome plan for music on the day
we pick 15 must-be-played songs, and provide him another 50 to choose from based
on the crowd and the vibe
over the last few days i've been putting together a preliminary list
here are some of my favorites:

"To Love Somebody"- The Bee Gees
"Chain of Fools" - Aretha Franklin
"To Be Young"- Ryan Adams
"Loretta Lee Jones" - Langhorne Slim
"Fire" - Jimi Hendrix
"Sugarpie Honeybunch" - Four Tops
"You Make My Dreams" - Hall & Oates
"Twist and Shout" - The Beatles
"Susie-Q" - CCR

what are some of your favorite songs to dance to whether its in your room, or at a wedding?

project 1: update.

finished a few more of the table numbers!
for #4- my mom found my grandma's old sewing box and it had a bunch of these awesome buttons inside
and i'm pretty sure #4 and #7 are my favorite so far...

i hope you all have an awesome memorial day
i'm going to be making a KILLER devil's food cake from this recipe i came across on the world wide web for a memorial day celebration on monday
i'll be posting the recipe upon completion! (trust me, you're gonna want it)

and finally, a quick shout out to miss Jes from AMountainBride who is getting married today!

project 2.

doily runners!

this is by far my favorite project for the wedding
its also the most time consuming, but so worth it.

last night, i went up to my room at nine, crawled in my bed
and sewed until i fell asleep (grandma)
and i loved every minute of it.

idea: i think i might start an etsy shop to eventually sell many of the things i'm collecting/making
thoughts?

goodness.

goodness gracious. so much has happened in the last few weeks.
which is part of the reason for my neglectful blogging...apologies.
lets see...graduated from college
moved home to the beautiful area above
and getting ready to marry the most handsome man
in 2 days he is moving here to work here
following our wedding day, i'll be joining him
reminiscent of a "famous" film, "its all happening"

i have a mountainous but also very fun to do list to start checking off
-get marriage license
-make table numbers
-sew napkins (yes, 200 of them)
-make pinwheels
-make covers for hay bails
-continue collecting china and, now, flatware!!!
the list goes on...i'll start sharing more photos of these fun things!

i know many of you out there are getting so much closer to your wedding day!
any advice for the months leading up to it?
how are you keeping your sanity?

the day after, i moved home with my mama for the summer to save money
i miss all of my friends so much, they became my family
in three months, we are getting married

it feels like so much is happening so quickly
its all a little overwhelming
but at the same time, i'm SO excited for the future

i must remember to enjoy every little moment
especially leading up to this exciting change
